In addition to the benefits listed above for members, the following services are free to the public.


  • Physician referral for persons needing a doctor. This is done on a rotating basis among the members who are taking new patients. Educational information is given, as well as hospitals in which the physician practices, Board Certification information, the physician's office hours, and Medicare and Medicaid insurance information.
  • Public and fee grievances.
  • Workshops on current medical issues for physicians and office staff.
  • Caller referrals from the general public to the appropriate health care provider.
  • PANHANDLE HEALTH, a quarterly medical journal with distribution to all physicians, health care professionals, and many citizens in the Panhandle. Subscriptions are available by calling the Society Office.
